About Charley

Charley Snow is best known for his depictions of paint splattered cows. Often he begins in acrylic to build heavy texture to explore variations in mark making and texture. These works combine elements of figure painting and abstraction. His paintings sometimes place the cow in unusual circumstances to push the viewer to take notice of their normal surroundings. He is originally from Salt Lake City, Utah. He earned his BFA from the University of Utah in 1998 and immediately after graduation he moved to Helper Utah to apprentice under David Dornan for three years. In addition to Mr. Dornan, his work was also heavily influenced by Paul Davis, and Tony Smith. Mr. Snow has work in collections across the United States, Asia, and Europe.
